Google’s Mobilegeddon!

Does your business depend on people finding your business on Google search? If so you should make sure that your site is fully responsive and optimised for mobiles also known as mobile friendly.

Google is updating it’s algorithm which will place enthuses on mobile friendly sites, meaning that if your site is not mobile friendly it may tumble down the rankings!

For any online retailer or service provider appearing high up on the Google listings, can mean the difference between a profitable business and a business heading for trouble.

Why are Google doing this?

Google now report that searches on mobile devices now surpass that of laptops & desktop devices. Google are always pushing to give the best experience and serve the most relevant content for their users, a site that is not mobile friendly can be hard to read and even harder to use. The main issues are the text is to small to read or the links are too close together and therefore too hard to press.

How do I know if my site is mobile friendly?

If you search for your business in Google on a mobile device, under your business name you will see the words mobile friendly displayed, in some cases you may even see a mobile phone icon. Another way is to simply visit the Google Mobile friendly test website and enter your url, you will then be given feedback and results as pictured below.

What can I do about it?

Simple, just get in touch and we will assess your website  and see which solution is best for you and your business.
